1 As clearly and succinctly as you can (and in your own words), explain what Adichie means when she talks about or uses the phrase “single story.” What is a single story? What examples does Adichie give of single stories?
2 Adichie says, “It is impossible to talk about the single story without talking about power.” In what ways is storytelling a form of power?
3 What stories did you grow up reading/listening to? Could you identify with the characters in these stories? Why? Why not? Did these stories influence your perception of the world?
