Remember that your research essay should have a clear, arguable thesis, well organized paragraphs, an introduction, and a conclusion, and should be formatted according to MLA guidelines (you can review the guidelines here if in doubt: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/mla_style/mla_formatting_and_style_guide/mla_formatting_and_style_guide.html).
If you are submitting a video/audio essay, please upload your script (~1500 words) and your Works Cited List with a link to your video.
Creative Project:
Your creative project can be handed in here (let me know if you have any trouble, though, with submission space, and we’ll work something else out).
Your creative project should be submitted with both an artist’s statement and a bibliography, formatted according to MLA format. Artist’s Statement:
Length: ~750 words

Your artist’s statement should tell me about your work, including its implicit argument and your thinking in choosing to represent the argument in the creative way you did. Your argument should be supported by at least four peer-reviewed, scholarly sources. It can be in the form of a short essay, organized in full sentences and well organized paragraphs, and can include some of the following information (although this list is not exhaustive):
Your “thesis statement”: what is your work communicating?
Which course texts inspired you in this argument?
What inspired you to choose this medium?
What did you discover about your topic that lead you to this argument?
A Works Cited List should be attached to your artist’s statement which includes the sources you’ve cited in the statement.
