By this point in the pandemic, we know that people of color have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19. Stated plainly, African Americans and Latinx people are overrepresented among those who get COVID and pass away from it. Explain this fact through systemic racism framework and relate it to the weathering hypothesis.
Make sure you 1) define and summarize systemic racism; and 2) define the weathering hypothesis; 3) use these lenses to explain the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on communities of color. You may choose to focus on the African American community, the Latinx community, or another minoritized population.
