My Experience with a Traditional Healer
Field Experience (Internet research)
To gain an experiential understanding of how Afrikan/Black Psychology is applied to the lives of people of Afrikan descent, students will be required to complete a field experience project. An example of an acceptable field experience would be to visit a traditional/indigenous healer, Afrikan Centered School or a special event of Afrikan interest and chronicle this experience. A student may interview the traditional healer, attend school classes, or observe an Afrikan Centered ceremony, ritual or event. The write-up must be comprehensive and integrate the literature in this area in a meaningful way. Within 4-6 type-written, double-spaced pages students are to describe the experience, its relevance to the course as well as its impact on their lives.
