Marijuana Legalization

  

The attached article discusses the impact of legalization of marijuana/cannabis on both public health and on physicians (please think of this as HCPs). Please respond to the following questions:

1. Why does legalization remain controversial? Please respond to this as a HCP and not as a private citizen.

2. How would the adverse effects of cannabis/marijuana use impact your ability to practice (if it would)? If adverse effects wouldn’t effect your ability to practice what evidence/data do you base your response on?

3. How would you counsel a young adult who is using cannabis/marijuana on a daily basis to self treat symptoms of anxiety?
