Assume you have been assigned by the Chief of Police to identify an evidence-based strategy to improve community-police relations in your police agency. The Chief has instructed you to submit a research paper explaining the procedure and recommendations on moving forward with implementing the new initiative in your department.
You are free to select any subject area we studied during this semester or any procedure and protocol that could improve police-community relations. For example, your research may include, but not necessarily be limited to, police recruitment, social media policies, changing patrol strategies (order maintenance vs. crime-fighting), customer service training for police officers, discipline, use of force, use of non-lethal force, high-speed pursuit, body cams, civilian review panels, etc. Then, using the five-step process we studied in this course, you must submit a comprehensive literature review on your selected topic. Further, Dr. Bradley must approve your research topic.
