Make sure your volume is on, at a normal level. Take note of at what frequency you start to hear something (lower threshold). What does it sound like (pitch)? Take note of what happens to your perception of loudness when the frequency increases. At what frequency do you stop perceiving the sound (upper threshold)? Then, have someone you know watch the video. Do their perceptions (thresholds, pitch, loudness) differ from yours? Why might this be so? What does this demonstration show to you about the relationship between sensation and perception of the sound stimulus?
