  • Would you rather work more than you do currently (and make more money) or work less and make less money?  Do you think laws in the US should be changed to reduce the standard work week to 35 hours and allow for more vacation time?

If you were to conduct a poll among your classmates, you would likely find out that the biggest opportunity cost in their lives is time.  Going to school and working takes a great deal of time.  In the US, most workers spend at least 40 hours a week working.

In other countries, this is not always the case.  Workers in Europe receive more vacation time than workers in the United States: such as 40 days of vacation time in Germany. As a result the typical US worker puts in about 2000 hours per year compared to 1700 hours per year in France and Germany.
