The critical reflection is a chance for us to be reflexive about the course, and about the broader questions we’ve been unpacking all semester. There are two overarching but related questions that you will be asked to reflect on and respond to:
1. Is criminology a discipline of freedom or one of captors?
2. What does it mean to bring abolition into the classroom? Into the academy?
Use this space to be reflexive about your own positionality and the spaces we share and occupy. I encourage you to think about these questions in tandem. Put differently, please do not answer these as two completely distinct questions, the answers should integrate the ideas that come through both of the questions.
Papers will be approximately 1500 words, double-spaced.
