Assignment 2 papers will be evaluated according to these criteria:
Answer — Did you answer the question assigned? All parts?
Evidence -…- Are your statements supported with evidence from class materials such as readings
and lectures, secondary and primary sources? Did you make sure you used examples from
the film when you write the paper?
Style -…- Did you use MLA citations (author, page #) where appropriate, and include a works
cited page in addition to your 3-page paper – it does NOT count as part of your paper?
Did you use Times New-Roman 12-point font? Did you double-space? Are your margins
standard 1 inch?
Analysis -»- To what extent does your essay demonstrate your use of critical thinking? Is there
depth to your analysis? Is your argument presented logically and convincingly? Does it
show your ability to synthesize diverse material and concepts? Did you avoid using
extensive quotes just to fill up space?
Expression – Is your essay coherent, well-organized and written with clarity? Is your use of
grammar and spelling correct?
