2. Social Justice Issue Description and Background: Thoroughly describe your social justice issue. To do this correctly, find relevant information on the issue you are focusing on from valid and credible sources (see module page on valid and credible sources) to help you do the following in at least 7 sentences:
2a. Explain the problem and provide background information and ample details like related and relevant historical events, important data and facts, anything to fully understand it and its impact on society.
2b. Provide Web link(s) or full reference(s) of where you found your information below your response. Make sure they are from valid and credible sources.
3. Current Event: Find a current event (this is a news story/incident story, not informational piece, that occurred within the last five years) that relates to your chosen social justice issue, then complete the following in at least 7 sentences:
3a. Summarize the event. Address the details of the story: who, what, where, when, why/how.
3b. Analyze your news story, then provide a full explanation of what this current event reveals about this social problem. To do this correctly, seek out the implications hidden behind the details of the story then, explain what you discovered. Make sure to not repeat the details of the story for this part.
3c. Include the Web link to your current event source below your response.
3D: Provide the above in at least 4 sentences for another current event related to your chosen social justice issue. The same is required, except for the minimum amount of sentences.
4. Social Movements: Search for social organizations, social movements, or political policies that are trying to address your chosen social issue. Then complete the following in at least 7 sentences:
4a. Thoroughly describe one social organization, social movement, or political policy that you found. Include how and when it began, what they do and want to do, who is behind it, and other important information to fully describe it.
4b. Give an evaluation of it’s effectiveness in improving the social issue. Provide details of specific accomplishments and/or data that demonstrates their level of effectiveness. Provide your own suggestions to improve the social organization, social movements, or political policies you found.
4c. Below your response, include a Web link of the social organization, social movement, or political policy where you obtained above information.
4d. Provide the above information and evaluation in at least 4 sentences for an additional social organization, social movement, or political policy. The same is required, except the minimum amount of sentences
