The control of our nation’s borders and the regulation of who can enter and leave the country is an integral part of homeland security. The Department of Homeland Security is charged with preventing the entry of terrorists, securing the borders, and carrying out immigration enforcement functions. Many of the 22 agencies that make up the Department of Homeland Security have as their primary mission 1 or more of these tasks, yet there is a significant ongoing debate about immigration and the role of Homeland Security. Summarize the current debate regarding immigration and homeland security. Explain and support your views on the immigration debate.
The student will complete 3 Discussions in this course. The student will post one thread of at least 500 words by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of the assigned Module: Week. The student must then post 2 replies of at least 300 words by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Sunday of the assigned Module: Week. For each thread, students must support their assertions with at least 2 scholarly citations in APA format. Each reply must incorporate at least 1 scholarly citation in APA format. Acceptable sources include the textbook, the Bible, and scholarly journal articles.
