Read pgs. 4-14 of Dr Aiello’s work linked here (Links to an external site.)

Consider the comments on pgs 13 and 14 by Eagleton on literature in terms of movies? This will come in handy when you begin to discuss the first episode of Angels in America (see the links in Readings and Videos file at the beginning of this module).
Answer the following questions (using APA style parenthetical citations for your references):
1-What are the two main “assumptions” of Enlightenment that Dr. Aiello claims? Try to put these into your own words as much as possible, but please feel free to quote from the relevant passages, too! (see pg. 5 and 6 especially)
2-What is the conclusion or main argument that Dr. Aiello makes that is the goal of the counter Enlightenment scientists, artists, and philosophers? (see pg. 7)
3-The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) conducts the US census and uses the following categories for race: White, Black or African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, and Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander and Other. This is an example of the persistence of “logical positivism” in categorising humans by race. The biological sciences have shown that “race” is a social construction. In what ways are these “social constructions” no longer useful to us? In other words what are some of the consequences, intended or otherwise, of continuing to use these categories?
