Fire Prevention Code Article review
An article review results from critically examining all aspects of an article. You will have to read your article several times to understand it fully enough to review properly.
Often, comparing your article to others will help you determine its quality.
Also, think about the article and its ideas in terms of each of the different week’s concepts and frameworks we study in class. Do the ideas in the article fit all the categories of appropriate class concepts, models and frameworks? This often will help you see things the authors missed, think about things the authors write in a new light, or see that the authors indeed covered a topic thoroughly.
You will be required to review an article from a credible and reliable source you choose that discusses any of the codes discussed in this week’s reading. This can be any of the following:
- Fire Prevention Codes
- Electrical Codes
- Building Codes
- Zoning Codes
- Housing Codes
Make sure the article relates to fire prevention.
Article Review Guidelines
This assignment requires students to find a current events article relating to material covered in class and write a 2-3 page response paper. Your review will be worth 100 points. Your review should be:
- At least 2 pages in length (not including any title and reference pages)
- Your paper must be double-spaced, 12 pt. font and 1 inch margins. You must cite all of your sources using MLA format. Use the appropriate in-text citations where necessary.
