What if you were the judge hearing the following?
20-year-old Jesse was convicted of breaking into the home of an elderly lady and taking her purse and her jewelry, while she was out playing Bingo. This is his second burglary conviction. He was already on probation for the first burglary that he committed 6 months ago. At his sentencing hearing, he explains to you that he committed this burglary in order to get money to support his crack cocaine habit.
