This presentation needs 3-5 mins. The timing on your presentation needs to remain strictly within this time frame to ensure that all students in your class can present on the same day. In this presentation, you will:

1. Present your research topic, object, and genre to outline your proposal

2. Structure and deliver an organised presentation, utilising visual aids as appropriate

3. Employ effective and professional public speaking skills

Students are allowed to include any resources that are appropriate to the task, so long as they are solid and reliable sources. This can be videos, worksheets, posters, audio files/podcasts, or even physical activities.

Presentations will be marked based on the clarity and reasoning of the ideas, the quality and organisation of the presentation, speaking skills and engagement with the audience.

  • Give a clear sense of what is proposed and why
  • Be easy to follow and well-supported
  • Use organic and articulate speech and non-verbal skills to engage the audience
  • Be vague or confusing, making unreasonable assumptions or providing no support
  • Convey no sense of structure or make poor use of visual aid
  • Go well over or under time
  • Be directly read from a script and/or feature inorganic, quiet or inconfident speech

 

Interactive media/communications – watch /read/do some form of media and communication with a notepad in hand, note any significant points Journal articles/chapters relevant to your Legislation, policies, core concept – it doesn’t have to be perfect, just read it. (use notepad) Industry and research reports – the Digital News Report is a good example. Policies, memos, or announcements relating to your subject.
 Specific: The goal should target a specific area of improvement or answer a specific need. Measurable: The goal must be quantifiable, or at least allow for measurable progress. Attainable: The goal should be realistic, based on available resources and existing constraints. Relevant: The goal should align with your objectives and values to be considered worthwhile. Time-bound: The goal must have a deadline or defined end.

• Argument based on evidence – primary or secondary material
• Text dominant sometimes supplemented by data graphics/figures
• Organised into relevant sections

– A topic where either theoretical or empirical evidence can be used to build an argument
